Dublin airport operator to present plan to Government to avoid further long delays

The operator of Dublin Airport has until this morning to present a plan to government for avoiding further long delays for passengers.

More than 1,000 missed flights after huge queue's formed at check-in, bag drop and security on Sunday, with people left waiting hours before even entering the terminal buildings.

It has led to fears of further delays over the coming bank holiday weekend, with 100,000 expected to pass through each day.

The DAA will be grilled by politicians on the delays and security issues at an Oireachtas committee tomorrow.

A senior Government Minister says there is no justification for the delays seen recently at Dublin airport.

Finance Minister Pascal Donohue says the airport has many indicators that allow it to know what kind of demands it's facing days, weeks and months in advance, and the issues need to be fixed.
