A motorist has been arrested after trying to flee from Gardaí in Co. Waterford over the weekend.
It happened on Sunday night, as Tramore Gardaí were carrying out a checkpoint in Summerhill.
Officers say a motorist approached the checkpoint driving 'erratically', and when the driver spotted the checkpoint, they tried to avoid it.
Gardaí stopped the vehicle where they discovered that the driver was intoxicated.
Officers also found that the motorist was disqualified from driving.
The driver was arrested and charged to appear before the Courts.
