More vigils will take place across the south east today in memory of 23 year old Ashling Murphy who was murdered in Tullamore on Wednesday.
Tens of thousands attended those held around the country yesterday to mourn the young schoolteacher and pay a solemn tribute to her and all the women who have died violently at the hands of men.
Wexford
There are a number of vigils and memorial services taking place across Wexford this evening.
The earliest will take place on Wexford quay front at 4 o'clock with another in Gorey at half past 6.
There will be two more at the later time of 7pm on the New Ross quay front and in Kilmuckridge also.
Waterford
In Tramore a vigil will take place by the cannon on the Doneraile at 4pm.
A 5km walk and run in memory of Ashling will commence in Carriganore along the greenway at the same time.
The event is being organised by local councillor and avid runner, Frank Quinlan.
Cllr. Quinlan says all are welcome;
"I go out for a walk or a run morning, noon and night, and you never think about the fear factor that women have going for one.
I was just totally in shock when the news broke and I was thinking about it so I felt compelled to do something to show solidarity and show support to Ashling and all women that are out there that walk and run."
