A mindset & nutrition seminar is to take place in Waterford City in aid of Solas Cancer Care Support Centre.
Speaking on the importance of mindfulness and nutrition, Derek Rowe of Bodyshapeperformance will be joined by Keith Barry on the night.
Derek, a fascinating individual, has turned his life around in recent years.
Leaving behind a past of theft and drug issues, Derek moved to halfway house, Ceim Eile, in Waterford City four years ago.
There, he got clean.
“I made a real go at it", Derek told the Waterford News & Star last September. "I was a qualified personal trainer and wanted to pursue this dream."
That dream became a reality in January 2014, when Derek set up his own basic gym.
There were times of struggle, but with he support of his girlfriend, a little grit and a lot of determination, Derek saw his dream through - while building one of the South East's most successful training gyms in the process.
Owing much to those who helped him along the way, Derek is donating all proceeds of the event to The Solas Cancer Support Centre.
Charity Mindset & Nutrition Seminar takes place on Thursday February 23rd from 8 - 10 pm at Boxworks, 40 Patrick Street, Waterford City.
