A murder investigation is expected to be launched today after the death of a man in Co.Louth.
The man, named locally as Brian Reynolds, was found with serious injuries at his home in Rathmullen Park, Drogheda last Thursday evening.
He was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes hospital but died on Christmas Eve.
A post-mortem will be carried out on Mr Reynold's body today.
The Irish Independent is reporting that the attack on him may have been targeted and involved up to 4 people.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information that can assist with the investigation to come forward.
