The M11 motorway in Wexford has fully re-opened after flooding yesterday evening.
Drivers reported being stuck on the motorway for over an hour as flood waters caused havoc in and around Gorey.
Much of the town was under water for a time with homes and businesses flooded.
The local authority is now working to assess and clean up the damage caused.
Wexford Fianna Fail Senator and Gorey-native Malcolm Byrne says this was the latest in a series of problems this year:
"We're seeing a lot of roads being flooded. We're seeing potential damage to roads, footpaths and property."
"This does have an impact on people trying to get around the area."
