Calls for E-Scooters to be limited to 12km per hour

There are calls for insurance and a provisional licence to be required to use an e-scooter.

An Oireachtas committee has heard calls for the planned speed limit for e-scooters to be halved to just 12 kilometres an hour.

These measures aren't planned under draft legislation published by the government last year.

The Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind is also calling for e-scooters to be banned from footpaths, and dual cycle and walkways.
