British MP David Amess has died following an incident earlier today, Essex Police have confirmed
The British Conservative MP was stabbed multiple times at a local constituency surgery in Essex.
It's understood the 69-year-old - who's served in parliament since the early eighties, was treated at the venue in Leigh-on-Sea - but died at the scene.
A 25-year-man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
