The campaign message for National Breastfeeding week is ‘Every Breastfeed makes a Difference.’
The national campaign runs until October 7th.
Tipperary native Claire Bulfin - a Midwife and Lactation Consultant in Waterford told Beat News, "Breastfeeding Week is sponsored by the HSE, so they put a lot of work into radio ads this week.
We have a lot of information on the breastfeeding.ie HSE website.
It happens in Oct because we're into the 10 month of the year and it's generally the end of a pregnancy, entering into the tenth month.
So that's why it's at the same time every year."
Having been a full time working midwife, certified lactation consultant and qualified antenatal teacher, Claire has recently launched on a new venture aimed at mothers and families in counties Waterford, Tipperary, Kilkenny and Wexford (see www.breastfeedingwaterford.ie).
