Gardai have confirmed that the body recovered from the River Suir tonight was that of missing teen Elisha Gault.
Search teams recovered the body at around 7pm near Killowen in Portlaw, Co. Waterford.
The body was taken from the river and transferred to Waterford for a post mortem examination at University Hospital Waterford.
In a statement tonight, gardai paid tribute to the search volunteers who had supported the huge search operation since Elisha went missing on St. Patrick's Day.

The Office of the State Pathologist was notified and a full post mortem examination is expected to be conducted on Monday.
