There were dramatic scenes on the Junction 13 of the M7 yesterday evening as a vehicle blaze sparked long tailbacks.
Beat newsreader, Emma Nolan, pulled off a lucky escape as she ran from her vehicle as it went up in flames outside Kildare Town.
Speaking after last night's traumatic incident, Emma said everything happened "in just 10 seconds."
Smoke filtered from the dashboard before flames came through the bonnet - it was terrifying", said Emma.
“I managed to swerve onto the hard shoulder, where a man came to my aid. It was pure luck, the guy just happened to be in the field alongside the hard shoulder where I came to a halt.”
Luckily, Emma managed to save her college dissertation, and more importantly, her hair straightener, before the fire spread to the rest of the vehicle.
Thankfully, Emma escaped without a scratch. Her car, however, was not so lucky...
