February had some great news for someone in Carlow as it was revealed that a €66 million Euromillions ticket was sold at Easons in the Fairgreen Shopping Centre in Carlow.

Meanwhile, water charges were still on the agenda and the protests were continuing across Ireland. With a general election coming at the end of the month, people were letting politicians know how they felt and the Tánaiste came face to face with an angry Kilkenny teenager who had a choice few words for her.

Speaking of the general election, we had a number of leaders' debates on tv, but the most interesting thing that happened during them was a stray piece of paper, smoothly saved by Micheál Martin.

Also in February, nine adult men had a lucky escape when they were found in a truck trailer in New Ross. It is understood the truck had disembarked from a ferry from France at Rosslare Port.

It was a cold and icy month and one man’s struggle to put his bins out on his icy driveway went viral. The video has been watched over 6 million times since!

Meanwhile, one of the world’s biggest cruise liners was forced to abandon its journey in February after sailing into 150-mile-an-hour winds and 40 foot waves. Watch the incredible footage here.

Finally, it was a big month for Beat Breakfast in February as the show celebrated its tenth birthday! We threw a big party in Kilkenny....
