Beachgoers are being encouraged to party responsibly and not to enter the water after drinking alcohol.
Figures released as part of Water Safety Awareness Week have shown that alcohol was a factor in one in three Irish drownings.
A joint appeal by Water Safety Ireland, the Coast Guard and the RNLI is calling on people to be safe and look out for each other when near the water.
The RNLI says you can have fun but make sure safety comes first.
