CNN Turk is reporting that a gunman has opened fire in a nightclub in Istanbul during a New Year's Eve event.
The Reina Bar in the Ortaköy district was full of revellers welcoming in the New Year when two gunmen opened fire according to the network.
Reports suggest they may have been wearing Santa costumes.
The number of casualties is not yet known.

Turkey has seen a number of terrorist attacks in the past number of months including an attack on Istanbul Airport in July.
