An initiative to help people who feel at risk on a night out, which was piloted in Waterford, has been backed for a national roll-out.
Pubs and clubs in Cork are latest to sign up to the 'Ask for Angela' campaign, which gives people a discreet way to seek help or support from staff and security.
Workers in participating venues have been trained to respond accordingly when someone approaches them and asks for 'Angela'.
The WIT students union were involved in creating the campaign, and WITSU President Michael Murphy says they've already had positive results.
