You might not want to put the heavy jumpers away just yet as the next few nights are set to see a return of close to freezing temperatures.
Despite the welcome news from Met Éireann of high temperatures and sunny spells across the country for the foreseeable, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows.
According to the national forecaster, both today and tomorrow will consist of dry and sunny stretches with highs of 13 to 17 degrees celsius.
A fine week of weather ahead and mild too but enjoy the heat as some weather models showing a risk of a cold blast around the end of the month. Don’t put away the big jumpers just yet😁 pic.twitter.com/qJKIuUWmiB

However, the first sign of this cold snap will rear its head tonight with temperatures dipping to below freezing, particularly in inland and sheltered areas.
This trend is set to develop across the week with temperatures plummeting at night from their daytime norms.
What’s on the way for this week has led Alan O'Reilly of Carlow Weather to issue an update to his followers, tweeting: "A fine week of weather ahead and mild too but enjoy the heat as some weather models showing a risk of a cold blast around the end of the month.
