An extra 60 places are set to come on stream this September for students who want to study medicine.
It's part of the government's plans to 'build a talent pool' of doctors in Ireland.
The Examiner reports the move is part of plans to increase the number of places in medicine courses by 200 in the next four years.
The 60 places coming on stream this year, will be available to EU students.
