Majority of people would like to see face masks become mandatory

Almost 8 in 10 people would like to see face masks become mandatory in public settings.

A Red C poll carried out on behalf of the Journal found more people in older age groups were in favour of the move.

64 per cent of people would like masks to be mandatory on public transport.

It comes as the government prepares legislation for a mask mandate if needed in the future.
