A six-year old boy has died in Mayo after being found in a stream close to his home.
A search involving residents and gardaí took place after he was reported missing from his home at Rehins Fort, near Ballina.
He was treated at the scene, before being taken to Mayo University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The coroner has been notified and a post-mortem examination will take place.
