A number of major routes in the south of the country remain impassible this morning due to flooding.
A status orange rainfall warning for Tipperary, Waterford, Cork and Kerry expired last night, but large areas remain submerged after rivers burst their banks.
In Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, both Convent Rd (R671) and Old Bridge are still closed this morning due to flooding, diversions are in place.
Properties escaped significant damage.
The advice from AA Roadwatch this morning is that if you are making an essential journey, "slow down and keep well back from other road users."
"Only drive through standing water if you know it's not too deep for your car. "
