A date has been set for Patrick Quirke's Supreme Court appeal.
The 51-year-old farmer from Breanshamore, Co Tipperary, is serving a life sentence for the murder of Bobby 'Mr Moonlight' Ryan.
It has been three years since Patrick Quirke was found guilty of murdering Bobby Ryan, a local DJ who used the stage name, Mr Moonlight.
It was the prosecution’s case that he killed him in an attempt to rekindle an affair he was having with Bobby’s girlfriend, Mary Lowry.
After failing to have his conviction overturned before the Court of Appeal last year, his lawyers successfully applied to the Supreme Court to hear a further appeal on the validity of the search warrant used in the murder investigation and the DPP's discretion when it comes to calling expert witnesses.
October 25th has now been set for this appeal to be heard.
During a remote case management hearing this morning, Ms Justice Elizabeth Dunne was told the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission may also want to address in relation to the warrant issue.
