An 80 year old nun who stole more than $800,000 to fund her gambling habit has been jailed for one year.
Mary Margaret Kreuper - who swore to a life of poverty when she joined her religious order more than 60 years ago - told a California court that she had 'sinned' and had no excuses.
The former principal of a Catholic school near LA, diverted $835,000 in school funds.
She used to money on gambling trips to Las Vegas and on luxury holidays including cruises and ski trips.
