Three quarters of Mums take away some of their child's chocolate Easter Eggs without them knowing.

Not a bad move when you consider  five large sized Easter Eggs contains almost 250 teaspoons of sugar compared to 60 teaspoons of sugar in five child-sized eggs.

MummyPages has revealed that four in ten children will receive between 5-10 eggs with a further one in ten children receiving a whopping 10-15 chocolate Easter Eggs.

Half of parents surveyed think parents shouls be consulted before their child is gifted an Easter Egg while nearly three quarters of Mums feel Easter Eggs should be limited by law to just one aisle or display in supermarkets.

It's estimated 9 percent of children will take 1-3 days while 40 percent will take more than 4 weeks.

A whopping 91 percent of parents ration their child's Easter Egg intake while they think popular alternatives to chocolate include books, a family day out, new clothes, home baked goods and home made gifts.

And  almost three quarters of parents are calling for the Government to introduce new merchandising, manufacturing and labelling regulations on the sale and packaging of chocolate Easter Eggs in a bid to curb our looming obesity crisis.
