The Christmas Tractors of Carrick on Suir are back bigger and brighter this evening in the South Tipp town.
Starting from humble beginnings in 2014 when Stuart John Downie and his friends decided to light up their tractors and parade through the town, this year's event is set to be spectacular.
That first year around 10 tractors took part, this year there are 22 involved and each tractor has in the region of 3,000 lights. There's also a silage harvester, a loader, 2 lorries and a sleigh.
Santa is also arriving into town with the Tractors this year for the first time. There's a purpose built sleigh on the back of one of the tractors.
This is the third year the event is running and like the two previous years all donations collected this evening are for the farm charity Embrace.
Stuart told Beat News there's a special reason this year that they chose Embrace once again:
"We're hopefully going to accept donations again for Embrace Farm, we raised money for them last year. Then in light of the flooding in Carrick, Embrace Farm actually instructed us to give the donations to the River Rescue in Carrick.
So this year we want to collect for Embrace Farm again as they made such a big gesture to the people of Carrick last year."
Stuart also told Beat News he knows of another town that has copied their idea already and he's just surprised it's taken this long!
Starting at around 5pm the Tractors will travel in from the Dungarvan Road, onto New Bridge, across Main Street, around the town to the Traffic Lights and up New Street to the car park. The route should be complete in an hour and there's a mini festival at the end with amusements, hot food and Santa's grotto.
