Gardaí investigating an assault on a man in his 50s in Portlaw, Co. Waterford have arrested a man in his 20s.
Garda and ambulance services were call to a house at Coolfin Meadows in Portlaw at 2.45pm on 13th December 2018.
The man in his 50s, who was from the area, was seriously injured and brought to University Hospital Waterford, where he was pronounced dead.
It’s understood he was involved in an altercation with another local man.

A man in his 20s was arrested at the scene by Gardaí and is detained at Tramore Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
He can be questioned for up to 24 hours.
