It's been announced that 47 staff at the Nypro manufacturing facility in Waterford city are to lose their jobs.
The announcement will affect a number of agency workers and fixed term contract staff.
A statement from Nypro has blamed a temporary downturn in business in one particular area of the facility which has led to the job losses.
The Waterford facility was opened in 2013 following a €60million investment.
