The Education Minister says teachers may be incentivised - as computer science is rolled out in secondary schools.
From September, 40 schools will begin teaching the subject at Leaving Cert level.
In the South East 4 schools have been included; Creagh College, Gorey, St Mary's CBS, Enniscorthy, Mount Sion CBS, Waterford and Presentation Secondary School, Clonmel.
