Gorey could be the home of a new 1,500 seater music and entertainment venue, a move which is being described as making the town the new entertainment hub for the South East.
Wexford County Council have been granted a compulsory purchase order by An Bord Pleanala for lands to the rear of Market House in the town.
Expressions of interest have now opened, and it's emerged a number of developers are interested in turning the site into a major music venue.
Harry Crosbie, in conjunction with the Bord Gais Theatre, is interested in developing a 1,500 seater venue similar to Vicar Street in Dublin.
A decision on the site is expected in the coming months.
