The National Public Health and Emergency Team has reported 984 new cases of COVID-19 this evening.
The latest figures from NPHET also show that there has been 31 new deaths from the virus in the past week. (since last Wednesday).
There is now a total of 5,280 deaths related to COVID-19 in Ireland since the pandemic began almost two years ago.
As of this morning, 343 are in hospitals across the country, of which 70 are requiring intensive care.
