Three suspected members of an organised crime gang were arrested at Waterford Airport last Wednesday.
The three were arrested by Waterford Gardaí who were waiting for them as they got off a plane which it's understood had travelled from Belgium via the UK.
The individuals are believed to be linked to the international drugs trade.
The trio were detained at Tramore, Dungarvan, and Waterford City Garda stations until yesterday morning, when they were brought to Dublin and appeared before the Criminal Courts of Justice in relation to European arrest warrants.
They have since been further detained at the behest of the State until the 11th of March when they will appear in court again.
