28 Hours Arts Project Tonight in Waterford

Waterford Youth Arts begin their '28 hours' project tonight

The youth group puts a number of people together who have 28 hours to devise and present a project

Lauren Carbery from W.Y.A spoke to Beat News what 28 hours is all about.

"This was an idea founded by Waterford Youth Arts about five years ago", she said.

"They said lets make five different pays, a dance piece and showcase what W.Y.A. is all about."

"We have five theatre pieces of different ages and different experience in theatre", she continued.

Lauren spoke of the diverce nature of the event which includes performances from actors, writers and musicians.

"We have a live art piece by Crianon Haton before the event, there will also be a live dance piece", she explained.

"Different musicians on the night include Louise Hanlon, who will be performing at the interval and we also have a live band with a saxophone to greet guests as they walk in."

WYA is recognised nationally as one of the country's leading youth arts organisations, and each week over 400 young people take part in its activities.

The event takes place tonight at Garter Lane at 8pm.
