A man in his 20s is due before a special sitting of the Waterford district court this evening.
He has been charged in connection to the fatal assault of John Lowe yesterday.
The 53-year-old man was discovered in a house at around 2:45pm by Gardai, after reports of a disturbance.
He was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead soon after.

A man in his 20s was arrested at the scene and brought to Tramore Garda Station for questioning.
He's now been charged in connection with the assault and is appearing before a special sitting of Waterford District Court this evening.
