After years of campaigning, the Arts Minister will announce the winner at an event in Dublin later today.
Just after 12pm today Heather Humphries will have the honour of announcing a result which has been years in the making.
The Three Sisters of Waterford Wexford and Kilkenny are battling it out with Galway and Limerick to become the 2020 European Capital of Culture.
The honour has gone to an Irish city only twice before - Dublin in 1991 and Cork in 2005.
The Three Sisters have laid out a programme of events which would cost 30 million euro to put together, but it's believed the economic benefits would top 150 million.
On Wednesday the judging panel were sent on a 8 hour long tour of the 3 counties, to view what the region has to offer and what they are proposing.
That was after visits to Galway and Limerick earlier in the week.
The campaigning concluded yesterday when all three bids made their final presenations to the panel in Dublin.
We'll know in just a few hours time just who ended up making the best impression.
