Our Play Irish track this week on Beat Breakfast with IASCA is 'Butterflies' from Soulé, Elaine Mai and Sorcha Richardson.
The single is a collaboration from the ‘Made By Music’ initiative with three of Irelands top female musicians. “Butterflies” combines each artists unique sounds and talents and looks set to become one of the smash hits of the summer. Written and recorded by all three artists in Diffusion Lab in Dublin, the song showcases some of the best up & coming female musical talent bursting through the Irish music industry.
The official video for “Butterflies”, out now on YouTube, was directed by London based director Ali Kurr further exploring human connections to the soulful pop beat of the track, set to the backdrop of a surreal world devoid of touch.
Three’s ‘Made By Music’ initiative offers a unique opportunity to artists within Ireland’s thriving music scene to reach wider audiences by coming together to create unique collaborative songs as well as developing and funding a full media campaign to support both the track and video.
Speaking on creating the collaboration, Soulé, Elaine Mai & Sorcha Richardson commented, “It was so exciting to have the opportunity to collaborate on a project like this. We made ‘Butterflies’ in a studio in the heart of Dublin city, after a couple of days writing together and sharing ideas. It’s a song about falling in love and feels like the perfect meeting place between each of our different styles and tastes as artists and writers. We’re really proud of the song and so excited to see it released into the world.”
