Last night saw some of the biggest artists in the world be celebrated at the 2021 Grammy’s.

It was a female-led celebration last night with two huge artists making history at the event.

H.E.R received the Grammy for Song of the Year for her single “I Can’t Breathe”. The track, which references George Floyd’s infamous words was written last summer in memory of Floyd and became a soundtrack to the Black Lives Matter movement.

“We wrote this song over FaceTime, and I didn’t imagine that my fear and that my pain would turn into impact and it would possibly turn into change,” H.E.R., born Gabriella Sarmiento Wilson, said during her acceptance speech.

Taylor Swift became the first female artist to receive three ‘Album of the Year’ awards; this year for her album ‘Folklore’ and previously for 1989 in 2016 and the infamous Fearless back in 2010.

Megan Thee Stallion took home Best New Artist and Best Rap Performance for the Savage remix with Beyonce, becoming the first female artist to bring home the award.

From the Savage remix, Beyonce is now the most awarded woman in the history of the Grammys and currently has the same amount of Grammys as super-producer Quincy Jones with a total of 28 Grammys each.

Only classical conductor Sir Georg Solti has more, with 31 awards.

Other awards received at this years Grammys include Record of the Year which went to Billie Eilish for ‘Everything I Wanted2 and Best Pop Duo to Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande.
