A woman uncomfortable farting in her boyfriend's presence has been hospitalised with trapped gas.
Singer Viviane de Queiroz Pereira – known by her stage name Pocah – shared her gas problem on Instagram.
Her 15.7 million followers saw the 27-year-old post images of herself in hospital where she explained what had happened.
She said, "I woke up at 5:30 am with severe stomach pains and ended up in the hospital.’’ Later, Pocah added how she was okay adding "But that's it, guys. I'm now fine. Just an accumulation of trapped farts."
According to LADbible, she also took the time to advise her female supporters on falling into the same trap she did: "Girls, don't be ashamed to fart in front of your guy, because what's really embarrassing is not letting your guy sleep because you're in discomfort, going to hospital with your guy, and the diagnosis being 'trapped farts'."
Pocah then went on to explain how she was wrongly encouraged by a TikTok thread that suggested that she 'ignore' the stomach pains. This then resulted in her hospital visit and subsequent tests.
TikTok legend Dr Raj weighed in on the matter explaining that on average people fart 14 times a day, adding that "if you hold in a fart too long it can be reabsorbed into your bloodstream and breathed out when you exhale."
So all in all, better out than in!
