An American woman has revealed on her Tiktok how she accidentally married her cousin.
Marcella Hill, from Utah, began her video by saying "So I've never publicly told anyone that I accidentally married my cousin."

The 42-year-old explained that she and her husband were looking for ideas for a baby name by researching their family trees on a genealogy site.
She said, "My husband's next to me on his own family search, and he's like 'oh that's funny we have the same grandma and grandpa's names'."
Initially, Marcella thought her husband was making a mistake. "I look at this line and it's all the same as mine so I think, oh no you're still logged into my account," she says. "Then we start looking and we realise, my grandpa is his grandma's first cousin."
The couple contacted their grandparents, who confirmed that they were indeed first cousins, and had actually spent part of their childhood living together. "They lived together when they were growing up as children. We are third cousins." Marcella says.

Marcella jokes that their shared heritage has its benefits: " We have won a prize for being the closest related in a neighbourhood activity, and when I got my family reunion he gets to go to his too, at the same time."
