A punter in County Waterford has pulled off a remarkable coup on the Lotto after four lucky numbers saw them land a stunning five-figure windfall.
The anonymous winner struck a small €0.50 wager in a BoyleSports shop, picking four numbers to be drawn in the main EuroMillons draw on Tuesday evening.
They opted for numbers 5, 17, 25 and 27 and faced mammoth odds of 33,000/1 against all four rolling out of the machine. But the odds started to tumble quickly as the draw got under away and in the blink of an eye all four had landed, triggering the tasty payout.
The run of good fortune allowed the lucky winner to return to the shop and swap their betslip for a whopping total of €16,500.50.
Lawrence Lyons, Spokesperson for BoyleSports said: “We send huge congratulations to our customer in County Waterford who has proved in the finest way possible that the big wins don’t necessarily require big stakes.
He continued: "To scoop such an amount from a €0.50 flutter is a memorable win, so we hope they enjoy the celebrations and wish them luck with the winnings.”
