An Aussie celebrity has gone viral for sharing the secret signals you can use to flirt at the supermarket.

Brittany Hockley, who found fame on the reality TV show The Bachelor, shared details of this supermarket dating code on her podcast "Life Uncut"

Brittany explained shoppers grab a trolley and head to the fruit aisle, where they can use certain fruits to indicate their romantic intentions.

"If you pick up a bunch of bananas, if they are upright, meaning the curve is facing up, this means you are single," she said. Conversely, if the bunch of bananas face down the way, this means you're not available.

"If you have a pineapple, and it's upside down in your trolley, you are showing everyone you are open to swinging," said Brittany. Indeed a pineapple is allegedly an international symbol used in the swinging community.

Brittany also said that a woman can indicate her interest in a man by placing a peach in his trolley. However, she did point out that this supermarket dating code does have limitations.“This is my question, what if he doesn’t have a bunch of bananas upright? What happens? You’re just throwing peaches out left, right and centre?” she joked.
