A timelessly beautiful European country has been named as a cheap place for Irish people to live abroad.

Italy has become renowned for its stunning landscapes and architecture, and the tourist destination is also considerably cheaper to live in than other European countries.

A study by YourOverseasHome analysed the cost of living in the most popular European expat destinations- United Kingdom, Spain, France, Portugal, Greece, Germany, and Italy.

Italy was found to be the cheapest of the seven destinations for groceries, household items, electricity, and is even the cheapest for hiring an in-house cleaner.
