One man in the UK is fuming after he was fined over €100 for going to McDonald's twice in one day.
The man, named Spencer Barclay visited the popular fast-food chain in the Metro Retail Park in Gateshead in England twice, the first time to buy himself a coffee in the morning, then he later returned to get his six-year-old son a Happy Meal.
Barclay claims it was a full workday between visits to McDonald's and despite this, he was sent a parking ticket by the company UKPC.
The 52-year-old arrived just after 8:20 am on the 24th of June, where he drank some of the coffee at the restaurant's car park, but shortly left for work and returned at 5 pm to treat his son with that Happy Meal.
Over a week later on the 2nd of July, the company issued the man a £100 fine for parking at the restaurant for nine hours, which included pictures of the car parked at the fast-food giant.
But in reality, he parked his car for free at work.
According to LADBible, Spencer, whos, a 52-year-old software consultant said it could happen to anyone.
"It's absolutely disgusting, it's just blatantly designed to try and get money out of people – it's extortion!"
“This can clearly happen to anybody."
The man says he can see how the mistake was made but claims he plans to take UKPC to court.
