We all know that one person who drinks what we think is way too much coffee...
However, it turns out that the caffeine addict in your life could be doing their body a big favour.
The potential downsides of caffeine have long been debated, but according to Doctor Frankie Philips, drinking what many would consider too much coffee could bring some health benefits.
According to dietician Dr Philips, three to five cups of coffee per day can be linked to a healthy diet and lifestyle with potential knock-on benefits when it comes to lowering your risk of developing type-2 diabetes and heart disease.
Phillips adds that coffee is also a source of potassium and magnesium, which are helpful nutrients in maintaining a healthy gut.
But just don't get too carried away yet...
Philips maintains that 400mg of caffeine is the safe limit. And while that accounts for six instant coffees, this number dramatically reduces when it comes to espresso-based brews - observing that limit will allow you just three flat whites per day.
