Fancy doing something a bit different with your partner?
On Friday 13th January 2017 Loftus Hall, Ireland’s most haunted house, will play host to the first couple to spend a night in the Hall in over 20 years.
The winning couple will then spend the night of Friday 13th in the Devil’s Bed located on the first floor of the Hall; directly above the infamous Tapestry room. Staff member Eugene Rowe stressed the significance of this event stating; “It’s rare to even get access to the upper floors let alone spend the night there.”
However, there is a catch. The couple’s experience will be live-streamed from the Loftus Hall’s website (www.loftushall.ie) and will be available to be viewed by the world. ‘We’re taking the room with a view concept and putting a devilish spin on it ‘ said owner Aidan Quigley. “Rather than a couple looking out at the world, the world will be looking in at them.”
The Devil’s Bed in question was installed for the upcoming gothic horror movie, The Lodgers, which was filmed in Loftus Hall throughout the Autumn this year. “The bed was actually designed and put in place by the film’s art department. It is a beautiful four poster draped in red velvet with black tassels” informed Rebecca Reddin, The Lodgers Locations Manager. “It certainly adds to the uniqueness of the whole event!”
The following day (14th January) will be the first paranormal lockdown of 2017 making it an action-packed beginning to the New Year.
To pick the lucky (or not-so-lucky) couple, Loftus Hall is running a competition which is open to couples (18+) from across the country and beyond. They must simply visit Loftus Hall in County Wexford this Christmas/New Year season to register.
Competition registration will take place at Loftus Hall from 17th December 2016 – 8th January 2017, and the winning couple will be announced on the 10th January.
