There are weird tattoos...and then there's this.

One Cork man has raised eyebrows online after he shared a video of himself getting the social welfare logo tattooed on his face.

Paraic Keane told Cork Beo that he's really happy with his new tattoo, as he wanted a statement piece. The logo of a bird flying from a hand is recognisable to many as the icon used by the Department of Social Protection, and associated with the Jobseekers Payment or "the dole."

Bizarrely, Paraic himself is not actually on "the dole" but currently undertaking a tattoo apprenticeship and working at a restaurant in Cork city. He told Cork Beo he got the tattoo because "it's funny."

"I've been wanting it for a while now," he told the news outlet. I've got a few tattoos but this is my first face tattoo." Paraic also revealed he has plans for another logo tattoo on his other cheek. "Maybe the Supervalu logo, oh no wait, the Lidl logo, that'd be funny," he said.

The hospitality worker is currently undertaking a tattoo apprenticeship at Dark Arts studio in Cork, but received his unique face tattoo from Eric Moore at Feel Good Ink.

Eric shared the process of creating the face tattoo on his own Instagram captioning it "social welfare face anger."

Meanwhile, a man in the UK has also gone viral for sharing a tattoo of a six-pack on his abdomen
