Beat 102-103's Trishauna Archer is one of 3,000 people to receive their Irish Citzenship at the Convention Centre in Dublin today.
Over 120 different nationalities will be represented at three Citizenship Cermonies being held today.
Trish has been living in Ireland for over 17 years and been working in Beat for over six years and calls Waterford 'home'.
The Jamaican native, who considers herself 'J-irish', has been totes emosh all week and is excited to finally join her family in attaining full Irish citizenship.
Citizenship ceremonies were first introduced in June 2011, since then a total of 124 Citizenship Ceremonies have been held at which a total of 76,000 applicants received their Certificates of Naturalisation.
Minors are not required to attend a ceremony so if you include them the total number of people granted Irish citizenship is over 100,000.
In 2016 four ceremony days were held; one in Waterford for approximately 100 people and the other three in the Convention Centre Dublin, where over 7,800 people received their certificates of naturalisation in 8 ceremonies.
The top nationalities of persons naturalised in this period were: Poland, India, Nigeria, Romania, Philippines, Pakistan, Latvia, Brazil, China (inc Hong Kong) and United States of America.
In total, nationals of 178 different countries have become Irish citizens since 2011.
