Lynea Lattanzio really likes cats. She is currently living with over 1100 of them and counting.
Lynda runs California's largest cat sanctuary called 'Cat House On The Kings'. It is a 12 acre site of rolling green hills with plenty of trees for climbing and fields for exploring.
There are currently 800 adult cats and 300 kittens on the site, although Lynea admits that she has allowed them to take over her own house aswell.
She started the project in 1991 when she went to an animal shelter and volunteered to bottle feed 15 kittens. She had previously been living on her own for nine years after getting divorced. She bought a house on a river, but without children or obligations she felt like she was missing something. By the end of year, she had saved 96 cats. "There was always room for one more," Lynea said.
As time passed, Lynea created a no-kill sanctuary for all animals to live in harmony without fear of euthanasia.
