Accounting Technician / Accounts Assistant
As part of our commitment to managing our continuing growth we are recruiting an accounting
technician. The successful candidate will work as part of the finance and administration team with a
commitment to achieving deadlines and goals as required.
This full-time permanent role is based at our offices just outside Enniscorthy and is a great opportunity for an experienced Technician.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, and working closely with the Company Accountant, you will be
fully responsible for the Debtors and Creditors function of the company. You will continually drive
improvement and manage the performance of those functions whilst working as a team player and
participating with the team around you to deliver exceptional service.
The Role:
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a professional environment and have a good
understanding of accounting, finance and reconciliation procedures including invoicing, accounting
software, online banking etc.
The Responsibilities:
• Accounts Receivable – daily invoicing, ensuring accuracy of invoices and associated monthly
reporting.
• Accounts Payable – processing approved creditors invoices, reconciling supplier accounts and preparing monthly payment run.
• Bank Reconciliations – reconciling bank accounts daily
• Responding to all internal and external queries in a timely manner
• Month-end duties – cost analysis, reconciliations, journal postings, sales reporting & rebates.
• Ad-hoc duties – to assist with management accounts and annual audit process and work with the wider office team if & when required.
The Candidate:
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a similar role.
• Accounting Technician or similar
• Accuracy and attention to detail is vital for this role.
• The ability to communicate effectively and take direction.
• A broad knowledge of accounting and financial control principles and their business applications
• The ability to work under pressure, balance priorities, and meet strict deadlines is essential.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability prioritise and manage own processing schedule.
• IT Skills and experience with Accounting Software packages
• Advanced user of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel & Outlook
• Flexibility and willingness to help other colleagues to meet deadlines.
• A team player and ability to work as part of a team.
