Senior Architectural Technologist
Job Description:
Stephen Carr Architects is an established architectural practice in Wexford with projects in the wider South East area. Our work consists of a wide range including commercial, high-end hospitality, industrial, residential and high-end one-off houses, occasionally.
We are seeking a talented and experienced Architectural Technologist with technical skills to add to our existing skill set.
With 5-6 employees, the position offers growth to work independently and be reimbursed for individual efforts. This is an opportunity for an experienced technologist to join our team and settle in, or return, to Co. Wexford. You will be offered a full-time position and will be working on various projects with new and repeat clients.
Job Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be involved in all work stages and will be responsible for delivering detailed technical design in accordance with current building regulations. Applicants MUST demonstrate and outline this experience in their application. Portfolios with sketch designs and planning applications only will not be considered. Portfolio must have at least four Irish / UK projects in order to demonstrate sufficient regulation knowledge & compliance. The ability to prepare detailed construction drawings and individual tender packages independently is a must.
Responsibilities include:
- Detailed Construction/ Tender packages including drawings, schedules, specifications and construction documentation.
- Attending meetings with clients, design teams, contractors and other specialists, and writing minutes.
- Assisting with ensuring compliance with Clients’ brief, current Irish Planning, Building and Health & Safety Regulations.
- Visiting site and carrying out site inspections.
Job Requirements:
Qualified Architectural Technologist (Senior or +5years Junior)
Good understanding of all Irish Building Regulations
Strong working knowledge of the Statutory Consent processes (Planning, FSC, DAC).
Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit, essential.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel
A high degree of self-motivation
Completing tasks independently without supervision or advice.
Working efficiently and punctually during the working hours of 8:30-5pm.
Excellent English communication skills, required.
Salary negotiable subject to experience.
