The Company
St Canice’s Cathedral & Round Tower is a place of historic significance and beauty in the heart of Kilkenny city. Primarily a place of worship, it is also a centre of tourism. The Round Tower is one of only two, that can be climbed in Ireland. The Cathedral itself has a rich history and visitors have the option of guided and self-guided tours. In addition, there is a gift shop.
The Person
St Canice’s Cathedral & Round Tower are looking for someone to head up a team of 10 people to manage and develop the tourism business. HR and Project Management experience will be essential. A background in tourism is not obligatory but the successful candidate must demonstrate a passion for what we do. The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for managing the business and will be tasked with developing the business.
The Job
- Managing the current business operation including HR
- Implementing a Marketing strategy
- Project Management Skills
- Developing relationships with tourism booking companies
- Liaising with various semi state bodies such as Failte Ireland and The Heritage Council
- Charities Act compliance
- Business Development Strategy
Hours: Options available for full-time or part-time
