Target & Purpose of the Position:

You are the first point of contact for all Quality Control issues, and you will provide accurate and timely support for our production facility in Waterford. You will have responsibility for all quality checks and quality reports on site along with corrective actions pertaining to Quality and ensuring procedures are followed.

Besides providing specialist support on Quality you will also support with ad-hoc projects and duties to proactively develop the quality management system (QMS).

Content of position:

• Ensure product can be traced using the product ID system
• Carry out all relevant product testing, quality checks & highlight any defects
• Reporting on a daily/shift basis, raise & follow up corrective actions if required
• Highlight any defect or out or specification items and block them in inventory
• Prepare full analysis and report findings along with corrective actions on product returns
• Document, control & archive of laboratory results
• Conduct laboratory equipment calibrations & maintain calibration records of all laboratory equipment
• Route cause analysis for non-performing products leading to the block or release of inventory
• Prepare and expedite customer samples
• Lead & facilitate toolbox workshops for training purposes
• Attend daily production meetings & management review meetings as required
• Ad hoc duties & project work as required e.g. supporting product development and trials
• Drive continuous improvement to the quality process and quality check procedure
• Occasional travel will be a requirement of the role for training or customer site visits

Requirements:

• Ability to prioritize multiple assignments & changing priorities
• Organized with excellent attention to detail, following through on all assignments to completion
• Ability to learn & utilize computerized systems for daily performance of tasks
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (both written & oral)
• Understanding of data integrity and its applications
• Demonstrates a continuous improvement mind-set with flexibility & adaptability to meet business needs

Desirable Criteria

• A relevant third level or professional qualification
• 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
